Paid Time Off (PTO)
PTO combines traditional vacation, personal, and absence days into one flexible bank of time. You can use this time for vacation, illness, holidays not designated by Acme, and any personal matters. You may carry over up to 40 PTO hours from one year to the next, unless required by other state regulations. Learn more.
PTO Buy
You may buy up to five additional PTO days each year. The cost of the PTO Buy days is deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis. If you do not utilize your PTO Buy during the year, the unused days will be automatically refunded to you at year end. PTO Buy hours are prorated for part-time employees.
PTO Donation
You also may share your earned PTO benefits with other employees who are unable to work due to life-threatening illnesses or personal crises.
Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
To help invest in the community, you may use VTO to be paid for volunteering up to 40 hours per year to a qualified organization. Volunteer hours are not deducted from your PTO bank. VTO hours are prorated for part-time employees. Learn more.

Acme protects you against loss of earnings when you are summoned to perform jury duty. You will receive your regular pay in addition to any governmental compensation received for jury duty.
Leaves of Absence
Eligible employees may qualify for certain types of leaves, including the following:
- Family and Medical Leave. If you qualify under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), you may be provided up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for certain qualifying reasons during a 12-month period. Additional FMLA benefits are available for Military caregivers. Your FMLA leave of absence may be paid under certain circumstances.
- Pregnancy and Baby Bonding Leave. As a birth parent, you’ll receive up to 12 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave, which runs concurrent with FMLA. In addition, all parents receive up to four weeks of paid baby bonding leave.
- Medical Leave of Absence. This type of medical leave is available to employees who are not eligible for FMLA — either because you don't meet the eligibility requirements or you have exhausted all of your available FMLA leave time. You may be eligible for up to six months of leave if you are medically unable to work.
- Personal Leave of Absence. After you exhaust all of your PTO hours, Acme may grant you an unpaid leave of absence for personal reasons for up to six months. Your manager has the discretion to approve or deny your leave request.
